According
to an ACC conference call, the new ACC divisional split for
football looks to be as follows:
Division
A
Maryland
Clemson
NC State
Wake Forest
Florida State
**new 12th team TBA**
Division
B
Miami
Virginia
Georgia Tech
Virginia Tech
Duke
North Carolina
The divisional
splits are put in place with the understanding a new 12th
member will be added to the league. The format of two Divisions
will not take place until a 12th team is added. That new member
will be put in Division A. Until
that time, the ACC will operate using the Big Ten model.
Each university
will get a primary partner from the other division they must
play every year in football. Florida State for example must
play its primary partner Miami each fall.
