ACC FOOTBALL SPLIT INTO DIVISION A & B
By Todd Helmick

According to an ACC conference call, the new ACC divisional split for football looks to be as follows:

Division A
Maryland
Clemson
NC State
Wake Forest
Florida State
**new 12th team TBA**

Division B
Miami
Virginia
Georgia Tech
Virginia Tech
Duke
North Carolina

The divisional splits are put in place with the understanding a new 12th member will be added to the league. The format of two Divisions will not take place until a 12th team is added. That new member will be put in Division A. Until that time, the ACC will operate using the Big Ten model.

Each university will get a primary partner from the other division they must play every year in football. Florida State for example must play its primary partner Miami each fall.

Basketball has decided not to have split conferences.
Instead, each team will get what is called two primary partners and those partners will have to play each other twice during the basketball season. Some teams will play twice and others only once.
Men's Basketball will play 16 conference games.
Women's Basketball will play 14 conference games.

MEN'S BASKETBALL PRIMARY PARTNERS (must play each other twice in basketball)
