UFL will have three new teams in 2026, the league's third year: Columbus Aviators, Louisville Kings, and Orlando Storm. These will replace the Michigan Panthers, Memphis Showboats, and San Antonio Brahmas. Two other team will change names: the Houston Roughnecks will become the Houston Gamblers, and the Arlington Renegades will become the Dallas Renegades.
The United Football League came into existence from the 2023 merger of the USFL and XFL. Four XFL teams and three USFL teams were retained, while the two Houston franchises (one from each league) were merged, retaining the Houston Roughnecks (from the XFL) identity.
