2018 was the first year for the IWU football team. The team has used the following sequences of helmet designs:

*2 The logo on this design - which is that of Riley Children's Foundation, a charitable organization based in Indianapolis - is worn on the left side only; on the right side is the same large "wildcat" worn on the right side of design 'B'.

In 1996, ONU used purple helmets with purple faceguards and with a logo consisting of the letters "ON" in white, outlined in gold; this decal was worn on only the right sides of the helmets. Silver helmets were used in 1994 and 1995; the 1995 helmets were "plain", but an "ONU" logo inside a football shape was used in 1994.
*1 This design was used from at least 1997 through 1999, with the logo apparently worn only on the left sides of the helmets; the right sides were left "blank".
*2 In 2000, the ONU decal was worn on the left sides of the helmets only, and in 2001 it was used only on the right sides.
*3 The decal on this helmet was first worn during the homecoming game in 2004; in 2004 and 2005, it was worn only on the right sides of the helmets, with the left side left "blank". For the 2006 season, the logo was worn on both sides of the helmet. No information about what scheme was in place in 2007.
