During recent years Lyon has used the following sequences of helmet designs:

This team played its first season of football in 2015.

McMurry's team was called the "Indians" prior to the 2011 football season. The team's 1962 football helmets featured a strange symbol that I cannot identify from the clearest available photographs (below). What is it? (One person suggested that it's a "feather".) Does anyone have a clearer photograph?

In the mid-1980s McMurry used several different helmet designs which I am presently unable to add to the web site; below are photographs of several of these:

I would greatly appreciate better photographs of any of these helmets or additional information, particularly from former team members, equipment managers, etc.

The 1991-1993 helmet featured the same "McM" logo worn on the previous helmet. I am unsure about the colors on this helmet, but it would appear that the helmet shell was silver and that the logo was maroon.

In 2007 and 2008 McMurry used the helmet design shown in the photograph below. The helmets were maroon with a new logo, a large "M" with the school name across it. I would appreciate a copy of the helmet logo for this one, which would enable me to add this historical helmet to the web site.

*1 This design has uniform numerals on its left side only; the right side is 'blank'.

*2 Uniform numbers are worn on the left side only of this design; on the right side is an oversized "hawk head" logo (as represented below).

This team's history dates back to the early twentieth century but I have received/found very little information about helmet designs used before the late 1990s. Prior to 1996 the school name was Texas Lutheran College. TLC won the NAIA Division II football championship in both 1975 and 1976; video from these games appear to show the team using plain black helmets. Photographs from the mid-1980s appear to show white helmets with a "TLC" logo on the sides (photograph below).

*1 In 2021 the 'TLU' logo was worn on the left side only during the first five games; the right side was "blank". The TLU logo was added to the right side beginning with game #6 (October 16 at Mary Hardin-Baylor).

*2 Apparently in 2008 only a logo was worn on the right side only of this design (as represented below).
