The 2006 Beloit helmet featured a logo similar to the one shown on the first helmet above, but colored differently - I would appreciate a very clear photo of the 2006 helmet.

During the period covered by this web site, Grinnell has apparently always used red helmets; the following statement appeared at the team's web site in reference to the new-for-2012 black helmets: "In the 123-year history of Grinnell Pioneer Football, no team has ever taken the field wearing a helmet that wasn't either leather or scarlet".

A report has been received indicating that Illinois College used navy blue helmets at least as early as 1972, and that for several years during the 1970s, the helmet logo featured an outline of the state of Illinois.
In 2004, the team used a decal consisting of the word "Illinois" in a cursive style with a "tail". The letters were blue and were worn on white helmet shells. I would appreciate a copy of the 2004 helmet decal so that I may add this one to the web site. Below is a photo of the 2004 helmet:
