Comments

Kalamazoo switched to a new helmet design mid-season 2014 (shown above); Olivet and Trine also used new designs in 2014 (shown above).

Historical Helmets

ADRIAN

? - 1999 2000 - 2004 2005 - 2009
2010 2011 -

From ? to 1996, Adrian was using a yellow "paw print" logo on its helmets; photographs of that design would be appreciated.

ALBION

1989 - c.1992 c.1993 -

Three earlier historical helmets have been described thusly: c.1970s: purple helmet with yellow facemask and a white "A" decal; c.1980s: yellow shell with purple facemask, purple "A" with white outline, and white-purple-white central stripes, the middle one being wider than the others; ? - 1988: yellow helmet, white facemask, purple stripe, and a logo consisting of the team name "BRITONS" in purple letters.

ALMA

? - 2012 2013 -
*see note 1 below

*1 The logo on this design was actually worn only on the right sides of the helmet for (apparently) several years. I have never received any information as to earlier helmet designs used by the team.

HOPE

1956 - 1960; 1968; 1980 1986 - 2011 2012
*see note 1 below
2013 -

*1 From 1986 through 1994 the oval "H" logo was worn only on the left sides of the helmets; it has been used on both sides since 1995.

KALAMAZOO

? - 1990 ? - 1999? 2000? - 2012
2013 - 2014 2014 -
*see note 1 below

*1 This design was in use by at least game #5 of the 2014 season (at Albion) while its predecessor was in use during Kalamazoo's first three games. No photographs were located from game #4 (vs Benedictine (IL)). The last design was presumably used through the end of the season, but no confirming photographs were located for games #8 and #9 (vs Trine and vs Adrian).

OLIVET

? - 1999 2000 2001
2002 - 2004 2005 - 2006 2007 - 2010
2011 - 2012 2013 2014 -

The logo on the 2001 Olivet helmet has been described as "similar to the Tennessee Titans with an OC on it"; I would appreciate a photograph of this one.

TRINE

1995 - 2000 2001 - 2003 2004 - 2005
2006 - 2007 2008 - 2013 2014 (1st three games)
2014
*see note 1 below

The school name was changed from Tri-State University to Trine University on August 1, 2008.

*1 First used October 4, 2014 (vs Alma).
