The above are all of the "known" helmet designs used by the Buffalo State football team, which played its first season in 1981, with the exception of the 1997 design. In 1997 the team used black helmets with a "tiger head" logo; below is a photograph from the college's yearbook showing that design. I do not have any information for the year 1995.

According to information I received from someone at St. Lawrence, the "STL" logo was in use during the periods 1981 through 1984 and 1993 through 2000, while the script "Saints" was used in 1980, 1985 through 1992, and 2001 to present. Prior to 1980, the helmets were plain red with some different combinations of white and brown stripes.
