2006 was the first year for this team as a four-year college (DSC has a junior college-level team for many years prior to 2006).

WOU apparently used several different helmet designs during the second half of the 1990s. During 1999, red helmets were used with the team name "Wolves" in white on the side, possibly with a picture of a wolf's head, also. I believe that the helmet design in use during 1998 was very similar to the current one. An earlier helmet from perhaps the mid-1990s was silver with the word "Wolves" in red on the side. I would appreciate some more definitive information about these earlier helmets.

Partial information has been received about two earlier helmet designs: during the mid-1970s the team was using dark blue helmets with the same logo as is used by the NFL's Minnesota Vikings; at another unspecified time, the team used silver helmets with a blue version of that same logo.
