Western Oregon has a new helmet design for the 2009 season.

Western Washington announced the termination of its football team in January 2009; the helmet images for WWU have been moved to the page for Defunct College Teams.

2006 was the first year for this team as a four-year college (DSC has a junior college-level team for many years prior to 2006).

WOU apparently used several different helmet designs during the second half of the 1990s. During 1999, red helmets were used with the team name "Wolves" in white on the side, possibly with a picture of a wolf's head, also (this logo may have been similar to, or even identical to, the current helmet logo). I believe that the helmet design in use during 1998 was very similar to the "2000? - 2008" design shown above. An earlier helmet from perhaps the mid-1990s was silver with the word "Wolves" in red on the side. I would appreciate some more definitive information about these earlier helmets.
