This league will no longer operate in 2010 - some of the teams will appear in the new Arena Football 1 league, for which I will soon add a seperate page.

There was one new team in this league in 2009, the Milwaukee Iron, and five teams have folded since the end of the 2008 season - the Daytona Beach Thunderbirds, Louisville Fire, Texas Copperheads, Lubbock Renegades, and Austin Wranglers. The team known in 2008 as the Lexington Horsemen played in 2009 as the Kentucky Horsemen, and the team known in 2008 and previous years as the Albany Conquest was the Albany Firebirds in 2009.

The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers had a new helmet design for the 2009 season (shown above).

QUAD CITY STEAMWHEELERS

During at least one game in 2007 (July 26 vs the Fort Wayne Fusion), the Steamwheelers used a different helmet design - the helmet shells were red and featured a differently-colored version of the same helmet logo which the team has used since its inception. Unfortunately I have lost the copy of the helmet logo which I once had, and used to draw the gold-shelled helmet; if the person who sent me that copy many years ago could please re-send it, I would greatly appreciate it.
