It's always
been said that when coach Paul
Johnson gets a great quarterback
to run his triple option system
the results are magnificent.
Guess what, Justin Thomas is
that guy. And the 2013 results
saw these Yellow Jackets post
an impressive 10-2 regular season
and a birth in the ACC Championship
Game. Two huge problems exist
though. Five of the top six
running backs were seniors.
Days, Laskey, Zenon, Hill and
Perkins are no longer available.
The second problem is on the
defensive side where good offenses
have easily exploited this glaring
weakness making it impossible
to outscore the opponent at
times. The ACC Coastal division
has a reputation for being a
complete roller coaster. Seemingly
for now, Georgia Tech is in
a position to provide some consistency
at the top where six loss teams
competing for the division title
aren't the norm. Especially
with Thomas behind center. |
