Dorsett
heads a
unit where
seven of
the top
nine receivers
are back.
This from
a team that
threw for
over 3,500
yards. If
the defense
is to get
better it
will start
at linebacker
where Denzel
Perryman
and Eddie
Johnson
are poised
for big
seasons.

Defense |
Finishing
dead last
in the ACC
in run defense,
pass defense,
total defense
and near
the bottom
in sack
production
just won't
cut it.
Can this
group get
better with
so many
youngsters
coming back?

DEPTH CHARTS were
only designed as a simplistic
gauge for listing players
that departed and players
that received the most
playing experience (consistent
starters). NationalChamps.net
recognizes the importance
of missing personnel data
not listed such as redshirts,
transfers, injuries, incoming
recruits, back ups and
alternates. Their coverage
will begin with our full
2013 Preseason Preview
due out this coming spring.

QUICK
TAKES |
1/2/13
- No,
this won't be a team
that gets compared
or returns Miami to
the dynasty years
of old, but they certainly
are setting up to
make 2013 one of their
potentially better
outputs since 2009
where they finished
9-4 on the season.
With only two full-time
starters departing
head coach Al Golden
will be the first
to tell everyone that
he has much to be
excited about.
- Despite
potential NCAA sanctions
still hanging over
their heads after
a full year and a
half Golden continues
to bring in gifted
recruiting classes.
- Running
back/return man Duke
Johnson was the ACC
Offensive Rookie of
the Year. He brings
a much needed explosive
element to the running
game now and senior
quarterback Stephen
Morris is slowly getting
better. If Morris
can limit the inconsistencies
this could be one
of the best offenses
in the ACC.
- Ten
freshmen started at
least one game this
past season and 21
total freshman saw
action.
- Miami
won't start out as
a Top 25 team simply
because the defensive
numbers are appalling.
The fact this was
a very young group
made youth an excuse.
That excuse can no
longer be available.
- A
new kicker and punter
has to be developed.
- Miami
and North Carolina
will be the favorites
to win the ACC Coastal
Division.
