* DEPTH CHARTS were only designed as a simplistic gauge for listing players that departed and players that received the most playing experience (consistent starters). NationalChamps.net recognizes the importance of missing personnel data not listed such as redshirts, transfers, injuries, incoming recruits, back ups and alternates. Their coverage will begin with our full 2011 Preseason Preview due out this coming spring.

QUICK ANALYSIS

12/18/10
UConn is about to play in its first ever BCS Bowl game and they are set to return 16 starters for next season. In the process, head coach Randy Edsall has dotted the list of America's Most Wanted coaches. No one in the Big East conference is ready to compete at the Top 10 level yet. In fact, just getting teams into the Top 25 period has become laborious for this struggling conference. Somebody has to emerge and those two same somebody's (UConn and WVU) are the same two favorites to win the league heading into 2011 with UConn getting the nod. Offensively, the Huskies look sound starting with punishing running back Jordan Todman who is capable of grinding out the yards or breaking one for a long gainer. When UConn runs the ball well, they can compete with just about anyone. The frustration levels throwing the football should not be so severe. Every one of the pass catchers will be back; they are just short on finding a quarterback who can get them the ball. A trio of signal callers gave it a shot this past year; Mike Box is the only back to try again. The defense has been respectable but a far cry from the expectations. Gone are two hefty linebackers, but that's it. Blidi Wreh-Wilson is the leader of a secondary that also returns all of its part including a great deal of back ups. The speculation that Edsall would ever want to move on make no sense when you can win a title in an automatic bid BCS conference. The formula won't change...hand the ball off to Todman. Without him, these Huskies won't crack these Top 25 summer polls. They do for now based on the experience factor.
