Wow,
these guys are back
again? Nesbitt,
Allen and Jones...no
wonder Paul Johnson's
triple-option attack
keeps getting better
every year. |

Defense |
The
Yellow Jackets have
had trouble keeping
opposing teams from
lighting up the
scoreboard and making
many of Tech’s
games into a point
race. Eight of their
2009 foes scored
27 or more points…too
many able bodies
are available on
this side of the
ball for such disappointment(s)
to continue. |

DEPTH CHARTS were only designed
as a simplistic gauge for listing
players that departed and players
that received the most playing
experience (consistent starters).
NationalChamps.net recognizes
the importance of missing personnel
data not listed such as redshirts,
transfers, injuries, incoming
recruits, back ups and alternates.
Their coverage will begin with
our full 2010 Preseason Preview
due out this coming spring. |

QUICK
ANALYSIS |
12/8/09
Just what kind of coach can
Paul Johnson be at the BCS level?
How is this for an answer…he
has been at Georgia Tech for
two years (20-6), and in both
seasons he has been named the
ACC Coach of The Year. What
should scare the rest of the
league about the defending ACC
Champion is that 2010 is shaping
up to be even bigger. With 19
starters returning, the Ramblin'
Wreck is easily going to be
the only Top 10 team representing
the ACC. Whether or not a few
players - like All-American
DE Derrick Morgan - decide to
skip out for the NFL should
make no difference in terms
of who rules the ACC next season.
The defense was not able to
take advantage of the league's
best offense (total and scoring).
But with 10 starters back on
‘D’, expect some
major improvements. When looking
at next year’s probable
depth chart, it's almost hard
to fathom just how good this
triple-option system can be
with this proven offensive backfield.
They also boast the best receiver
in the ACC with Demaryius Thomas.
The expectations are going to
be huge.
