Some people may not understand how Rutgers can be left out of a preseason Top 25 after the season they just completed. The WVU loss to close the year sent Rutgers from the top of the world – BCS status - to Houston...to play in the Texas Bowl. Gone are big guns Brian Leonard at FB and Clark Harris at TE. But enough skill people come back in 2007 to make this a worthy Top 25 team. Especially considering QB Mike Teel, a proven winner, and Heisman hopeful RB Ray Rice are still in the fold. The Scarlet Knights will start the 2007 preseason way above where they started the previous 50 years. The amount of returning experience is somewhat less, though, when compared to other teams, but enough so fans should see this team float anywhere between No. 18 and No. 30 in the summer rankings.
