BEST
PLAYER: WR D'Juan Woods
TOP
NEWCOMER: WR Adarius Bowman
STRENGTH: RB Mike Hamilton
heads a powerful set of ball carriers and
could be one of the Cowboy greats after
having the most productive season ever for
a freshman back; WR D'Juan Woods now gets
some help on the other side as North Carolina
transfer Adarius Bowman becomes eligible.
CONCERN:
The health of QB Bobby Reid after suffering
through injuries the past two seasonss,
OSU finished dead last in conference passing
last year as a result; The OL needs to find
the right combination at guard, but has
the ability to easily become a dominating
unit with both tackles returning from a
season ago.

DEFENSE |
BEST
PLAYER: DE Victor DeGrate
TOP
NEWCOMER: LB Chris Collins
STRENGTH:
The imposing size of the DL shows great
promise; Safety Donovan Woods has made the
transition from QB to DB and can play both
of the safety positions.
CONCERN:
The DL has the size but has to
prove better than the 200 yards rushing
per game allowed in 2005 (dead last in the
Big 12), injuries have hurt this unit; The
LB unit will start from scratch with three
new players assuming the starting role,
likely the biggest question mark facing
the Cowboys; The secondary must find the
proper rotation of players and the CB spots
are up for grabs.

SPECIAL TEAMS |
KICKER
A couple of options exist. Jason Ricks won the
job as a freshman in 2004 but has had difficulty
with the longer kicks. He missed last season with
a torn quadriceps in his right leg. Walk-on Bruce
Redden proved to be somewhat of a surprise last
fall as Reid's replacement going 11-for-14 with
the ability to hit the long one.
PUNTER
Matt Fodge won the job as a freshman and will
likely continue as the starter. His average fell
below 40 yards (39.9) but he had 20 kicks land
safely inside the opponent's 20.
