QUICK ANALYSIS

16 starters back from a 9-3 regular season campaign isn't too shabby. Coach Les Miles has done more with less, but 2004 will afford him the opportunity to operate with some experience and proven winners. His biggest problem will be finding a way to compensate for the loss of two offensive stars that were all a part of that dreaded three-headed monster. Heisman Candidate WR Rashaun Woods and RB Tatum Bell move on, leaving only Josh Fields to continue the production. Four starting offensive linemen will be back to offer protection and open holes. Don't be surprised to see All-Conference CB/PR extraordinaire Darrent Williams lining up on a few offensive occasions. If the Cowboys are to continue their success, the defense will need to improve in order to compete with their bigger rivals. The DL has been practically emptied. Before Oklahoma State can validate an early Top 25 position, they will need someone in the trenches to step up. One of the veteran TBs will need to do the same.
