QUICK ANALYSIS

November 28, 2003 - Pittsburgh is hard nosed, tough football team, much like the stereotype of the people in the Steel City. Don't look for much of a change. Most of the men who made this team successful in 2002 should return. QB Rod Rutherford has shown what he can do with his feet. Now if he can improve his passing dimension, this Panther club should really have something. The running backs are all in tact -- senior Brandon Miree will continue to be a sore sight for opponents. The defense does lose its middle. Gerald Hayes moves on to play Sundays, but the Panthers just somehow continue to locate studs on defense when needed every year so far under Coach Walt Harris. You can see the high ranking currently being enjoyed at Heinz Field, so placing Pittsburgh in the Top 20 for next fall is a no-brainer.
